Fellini's Magic / a film by Carmen Piccini

Piccini Production, 2001

Abstract: Filmmaker Carmen Piccini explores Fellini's dreams and creative visions, his doubts and confusion and, most importantly, his relationships with the visionaries who created Italian cinema. On hand are many of the members of Fellini's production team, including Producer Dino De Laurentis and Lina Wertmuller, once Fellini's assistant prior to her own directing career. There are celebrations, too, of Marcello Mastroianni, Fellini's favorite leading man; of Giulieta Massina, both as a marvelous actress and as Signora Fellini; and of Nino Rota, whose music is inextricable from Fellini's pictures. This joyous homage to Fellini winds up with key figures on whom he had a tremendous professional influence, including Martin Scorsese, Woody Allen and Roberto Benigni.
