Peace through law

Abstract: Kelsen departs from his theory of pure law to propose a formula for international peace. It includes "peace guaranteed by compulsory adjudication of international disputes", the formation of a world court with the authority to resolve international conflicts and peace guaranteed by individual responsibility for war crimes and other violations of international law. An influential contribution to modern international law, many of its ideas were incorporated in the Charter of the United Nations.
